Edgewater on Lake Tillery is located minutes from a collection of local activities, including:

  • Uwharrie National Forest includes miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding and four-wheeling as well as access to fishing, boating and hunting. The area is a rich game land for deer & wild turkey and a home for bald eagles.
  • Lovely Morrow Mountain State Park features a museum, trails and picnic areas, as well as camping & cabins for overnight guests.
  • The Fork Farms & Stables are famous for horse shows and competitions, nature trails and a shooting range.
  • The Piney Point Golf Club is also nearby. Remodeled in 1998, Piney Point is a mature golf course of picturesque, rolling hills framed by oaks and evergreens.
  • The Town Creek Indian Mound offers visitors a look at pre-Columbian life in Piedmont North Carolina with a visitor center featuring interpretive exhibits and audiovisual programs.
  • Reed Gold Mine is the site of the first documented gold find in the United States and includes guided tours of restored sections of the mines, a visitor center with exhibits of gold and historical mining equipment, and tours of a restored ore-crushing stamp mill.
